Thanharat Silamongkol (Poojah) is a research assistant in the early childhood development department at the Minnesota location. She holds a BA in Psychology, with a concentration in community and global health from Macalester College. As an undergraduate, Poojah worked in the Cognitive Neuroscience Lab conducting research on the relationships between gender identity, race, and visual processing. In her capstone, she explored the impact of self-compassion and goal orientations on academic help-seeking.
In addition to her research experience, Poojah has worked with adolescents with severe, persistent mental illnesses and children with special needs. During her time at Child Trends, she plans to combine her passions for research, youth, and mental health. Her current research interests include youth well-being, trauma, and working conditions of childcare employees.
