Katelyn Rust

Senior Community Liaison

Katelyn Rust is a senior community liaison in the youth development program area, working remotely in Phoenix, AZ. They graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in political science. As an undergraduate, Katelyn focused their studies primarily on moral philosophy, global justice, marginalized group politics, hermeneutics, and ontology. Prior to Child Trends, they worked as an office assistant and in advertising marketing, and participated in local LGBTQ+ coalitions, model United Nations teams, and voter registration canvasses. Katelyn is passionate about human rights, international relations, mutual aid, children’s welfare, cross-generational solidarity and community building, reading, and writing. Their research interests include fieldwork, participatory research, and improving outcomes for chronically ill and disabled children.
