James Fuller

Associate Data Scientist II

James Fuller is an associate data scientist in the early childhood development research area. He holds an MA in economics from the University of Texas at Austin and is currently working toward a PhD in Public Policy at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte where he also teaches econometrics and microeconomics. A Marine Corps veteran, he studies veteran labor market experiences and education and applies similar methodologies to work at Child Trends. Prior to Child Trends, James worked as an economist for the Texas Women, Infants, and Children’s program, where he helped expand benefits and availability to participants by conducting research on utilization rates and costs. James has expertise in microeconometrics such as employing quasi-experimental designs, thinking about modeling assumptions and endogeneity, and estimating distributional effects.
