Catherine Schaefer works within the early childhood research area. She has a Bachelors of Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in developmental psychology from the Pennsylvania State University. Before her graduate work, she was a junior scientist at the University of Minnesota studying executive function with Dr. Stephanie Carlson. As a graduate student, her work was focused on gender identification and cognitive development. Catherine’s work at Child Trends has focused on health equity, technical assistance in early childhood, and LGBTQ+ topics.
