AVANCE-Houston offers Early Head Start, Head Start, and other family services. This case study describes their partnership with the Houston Independent School District to follow AVANCE children through the early elementary grades to better understand children’s school achievement, which has informed AVANCE-Houston’s continuous quality improvement plans. It illustrates some of the key steps needed to link data over time between two organizations. This case study highlights an example of linking data that involves merging two separate datasets into a single data file.f
