Studies of Performance Measures and Adults Preparation Subjects

Jan 28 2021

PREP, funded under the Affordable Care Act of 2010, is a key element of a multipronged federal funding strategy to reduce teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections. Child Trends, in collaboration with Mathematica Policy Research, is building upon the PREP project to improve the current set of performance measures to better monitor program implementation and improve the quality of the PREP programs. This contract provides an opportunity to improve program models that integrate teen pregnancy prevention with adult preparation and youth development components, with the goal of reducing teen pregnancy and preparing teens to have healthy relationships and meet their educational and career goals. Six different teen pregnancy prevention initiatives will be supported by this work: State PREP, Tribal PREP, Competitive PREP, and PREP Innovative Strategies, Sexual Risk Avoidance Education grantees, and State Abstinence Education Grants.
