Senior Research Analyst

Zipi Diamond works in the early childhood program area. She graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in sociology and gender and sexuality studies. In college, Zipi conducted research on various topics related to college students’ health and wellbeing, including utilization of a campus wellness center and perspectives on advance care planning. During her junior year, she completed a semester-long independent study on the sociology of assisted reproductive technologies and family formation. She also worked as an assistant preschool teacher and interned for The Human Rights Campaign on an initiative to improve LGBTQ+ competency and inclusivity among adoption and foster care agencies.

Prior to joining Child Trends, Zipi worked for The Lewin Group, a health and human services consulting firm. At Lewin, she supported the Office of Head Start Monitoring System contract through data analysis, technical assistance, and program management. Zipi’s areas of interest include family engagement, transitions to kindergarten, equitable access to early care and education, promoting inclusive high quality sex education, and supporting the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families.
