Shreya Mukhopadhyay is a senior research analyst in the early childhood research area. She earned a bachelors in psychology and a Masters in developmental psychology at University of Calcutta, India followed by a Masters specializing in developmental psychology and quantitative methods at University of California, Irvine (UCI). 
 
Her research interests lie in socioemotional and cognitive development among general youth populations, as well as youth involved with the child welfare system. For her Master’s thesis at UCI she examined links between family connectedness in out-of-home care and foster youth’s placement preferences, emphasizing the importance of involving foster youth in decision making processes in a developmentally sensitive manner. Her other work focused on various personal (e.g., stress reactivity) and contextual (e.g., violence) predictors of socioemotional and cognitive development. Shreya has a keen interest in quantitative methodology and enjoys delving into designing statistical models that can efficiently capture the nuanced interplay between development and context. Her long–term career goals involve strengthening family relationships and other sources of social support for vulnerable youth.
