Megan Fischer

Megan Fischer, AM, is a research scientist in the child welfare research area at Child Trends. Ms. Fischer has experience in database management and leading and supporting quantitative and qualitative analyses. Her research interests include child welfare financing, effective supports for children and families involved with the child welfare system, and strategies for permanency and improving placement stability for children who enter care.  Ms. Fischer holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and an AM in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. In her current role, she directs a national case management database and a national survey of child welfare policies and practices to support maltreated infants and toddlers and their families. Ms. Fischer also works on an evaluation of a Regional Partnership Grant to support pregnant women with opioid use disorder, as well as a national child welfare financing survey.
