Claire Vansell is a senior research assistant in the early childhood research area. She is interested in evaluating programs and policies that create equitable, healthy, and positive outcomes for children by strengthening the education system. She joins Child Trends after spending the past year as a Fulbright grant recipient in Germany, where she taught English at a vocational school. Prior to her last role, she worked at Development Alternatives Incorporated on the USAID INVEST project. In this role, Claire supported the implementation of blended finance mechanisms that totaled $50 Million in USAID subcontracts.

Originally from Orange County, California, Claire works remotely. In 2020, she graduated from George Washington University with a bachelor’s in international affairs.
