Samantha Morton is a determined and detail-oriented grants administrator. Sam started her career in grant proposals in the Biophysics Department at the Medical College of Wisconsin, preparing submissions to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and ensuring that all subsequent projects were compliant with both the college and NIH. She has since expanded her repertoire of experience in grant making organizations to include foundations and various federal departments.
At Child Trends, Sam provides support for the research staff as the proposal and compliance coordinator. She assists in managing tight proposal deadlines and coordinates the majority of support documents for proposal teams. Sam helps to ensure that Child Trends’ projects are federally compliant, specifically by tracking programmatic subrecipient monitoring records and assisting in tracking and coordinating the submission of project reports. She also assists in identifying new opportunities for staff to pursue.
Outside of Child Trends, Sam is extremely passionate about the arts. She previously supported both an independent curator and a major Chicago art fair, EXPO Chicago. In the future, she hopes to combine her skills in grants administration and compliance with her love of art.
