As the media relations manager, Joanna McKelvey leads Child Trends’ social and traditional media outreach and acts as the organization’s media contact. She serves as the primary communications lead for client projects, working with researchers to identify communications goals, audiences, and strategies.

Prior to working at Child Trends, Joanna interned with the National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA), where she created content for NFPRHA’s social media accounts. Her primary interest is the translation of research into accessible and compelling information and products.
