Emily Peterson (she/her) is a school data collector for Child Trends. In this role, she helps support the youth development department and coordinates with outside partners. Before joining Child Trends, Emily served as the coordinator of emergency management for a natural gas utility and as the deputy director for the Hillsborough County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). She is guided by her passion for working with the local community, specifically children and birthing people. Emily graduated from the University of South Florida in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in public health. She is continuing her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to obtain her Master of Public Health degree in maternal, child, and family health.
