Technical assistance from Child Trends is targeted, creative, and cost-effective support, ultimately aimed at helping organizations and direct service providers improve the well-being of families and children. Child Trends provides technical assistance and capacity building at all levels. We have worked with individual programs, but we also manage major, national, multi-million dollar technical assistance centers.
Technical assistance can support organizations’ readiness for evaluation, their data collection and performance management systems, outreach and recruitment, management of budgets and compliance, funder and stakeholder communications, integration of research-based practices, client retention, and sustainability.
Technical assistance expertise develops over time and from practice. One of our basic tenets is that technical assistance for grantees, for example, will be most effective if it is available on demand, to solve grantees’ issues as they arise. This is why having a responsive organization with broad networks of experts within easy reach is essential.
