Programs With Mixed Reviews for High School Completion: High Quality Early Child Care Programs

Among a set of high quality early childhood intervention programs that were experimentally evaluated, only the Carolina Abecedarian Program and the High/ Scope Perry Preschool were found to increase educational attainment rates (Barnett, 1995; Currie, 2000). For instance, the Early Training Project had no effect on participants' high school graduation rates (Barnett, 1995; Currie, 2000).
