Civic engagement programs were effective in improving civics knowledge
and participants’ attitudes toward others.
For example, participants in Across Ages showed an increased
knowledge of and a more positive attitude toward older people.
Similarly, participants in both Across Ages and the Quantum
Opportunities Program had higher rates of positive attitudes toward the
future than youth in the control group.
