Programs using an academic achievement approach were
able to improve a number of other academic outcomes.
Two studies that measured children’s academic skills, as rated by
teachers, showed improved ratings for participants in BGC and QOP.
QOP participants improved on a general measure of academic skills,
while BGC participants improved in reading and writing skills and overall
performance. No difference was
found between BGC participants and controls in verbal skills or homework
completion.
