Summary of Available Evaluation Information: The Youth Employment Institute provides employment, education, and work training to high-risk youth. The in-school program offers dropout prevention services, case management, academic enrichment, and access to year round support services. An alternative school is available for high-school aged youth who are no longer in a traditional school setting. The alternative school is evaluated and audited by its funders, including the city of Portland, Multnomah County, and Worksystems, Inc. These evaluations include measures of student work-readiness, GED completion, maturity, and satisfaction with the program. No independent evaluation of YEI has been conducted to date.
