Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Objective: To provide program management with detailed information about program implementation and impact, and to provide information related to specific objectives in the program's AmeriCorps proposals.

Impact/Outcome Findings: The program did not have a significant influence on school attendance for the full sample, but children with poor school attendance records reported improvements. Mean reading and math composite scores, as well as mean scores on most reading and math sub-tests improved significantly. However, the influence of the program on report card grades was mixed. And finally, a majority of principals, team leaders, and teachers reported that the program influenced participating children generally, as well as academically and behaviorally.
