Mission/Goals: To provide access to educational resources that increase the capacity of young people to become employable and self-reliant in today's global marketplace.

Notes: The Entrepreneurship and Employment Training Program is a 12-14 week program offered after-school 2 days per week and on Saturdays to 30 high school students per program in the San Francisco Bay Area, Kenya, Guatemala, Tanzania and Indonesia. G.E.P. offers 9-12 EETPs per year, in each division, serving a total of approx. 800 low-income youth per year. The EETP focuses on 4 core skill areas: 1) Entrepreneurship Skills; 2) Work Readiness Skills; 3) Computer Skills; and 4) Skills for the Global Marketplace.

112 in Oakland. GEP serves several hundred thousand young people worldwide. The EETP program directly serves over 375 youth annually worldwide. High school age (15-24 years)

Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring (Pre/Post-Test).

Methodology: G.E.P. administers pre- and post-tests to evaluate the effectiveness of each EETP. Students take the same test on the first and last days of the program to assess the knowledge gained during the program.

Measurement Instruments: Pre- and post-tests, ratings scales, and qualitative interviews to assess students' perceptions of the program.

Impact/Outcome Findings: Evaluation results indicate that after the program,
3 times more students agreed with the statement, "A person has many opportunities to make good money in my neighborhood" than before the program began. 4 times as many students could write a formula to add two cells in an income statement using Excel. 3.5 times as many students understood the correct way to start an office memo (To:, From:, Date:, Re:). 3 times as many students identified the capitals of other countries such as Venezuela and South Korea. 2.5 times as many students could multiply decimals and whole numbers. (The EETP's real-world methodology reinforces basic numeracy
and literacy skills.). On average, students
have rated the overall program 5.57 on a scale of 6.
