Type of Evaluation: Outcomes
Monitoring. Impact/Outcomes: Youth-reported satisfaction with services increased between fall 2003 and spring 2004 (81.7% versus 92.6%), while parent satisfaction decreased slightly (87.3% versus 85.6%). The percentage of youth and program staff reporting improvement across the seven developmental assets increased between the fall and spring (63.7% and 74.7% for youth reports and 78.9% to 85.7% for staff), but the percentages decreased slightly for parent ratings (64.3% to 46.2%). The percentage of youth reporting improvements across the four areas of attitudes, skills, knowledge, and behaviors increased (61.2% to 65.4%), but the percentages remained stable for parent ratings (65.3% to 65.0%) and declined markedly for staff ratings (87.1% to 63.5%). Program staff report that 79% of students increased their computer skills, and 95% of students increased their artistic skills. Staff ratings of children's expectations of themselves increased slightly (69.0% to 70.5%) as did their ratings of children's participation in home, school, and community (66.7% to 69.2%). |
