Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Objective: To determine outcomes for children and youth in 4-H programs.

Impact/Outcomes: Younger respondents gave more positive answers about 4-H experiences than older youth. Overall, girls had a more positive assessment of 4-H than boys. Ninety percent of youth reported that adults in 4-H make them feel good about themselves. Eighty-four percent of respondents reported that youth in 4-H learned how to find information about topics that interested them. Ninety-three percent agreed that they feel safe when they do 4-H activities, and 94% reported that they feel safe to try new things. Eighty-eight percent of youth agreed that 4-H taught youth to be involved in their communities.
