Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Objective: The objective of the study was to find out the effectiveness of current approaches to after school education, how relevant the present approach to after school care is to current groups of children, and if staff are adequately trained to meet the needs of children and parents.

Impact/Outcome Findings: Among the respondents, the study found that children looked forward to coming to the program, they responded positively to questions centered on reading and book selections, and all parents indicated that they received positive feedback from their children. Parents indicated high satisfaction with their child's counselor, particularly in regard to expressed interest in their child.

Approximately 50% of the children receive tuition subsidy through the Agency for Child Development. The other families pay privately.
