Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring

Note: The research sample does not include the New York program.

 

Objective: To understand what it is about Boy Scouts that leads to positive youth outcomes.

Impact/Outcome Findings: The evaluation was organized according to the six critical elements of healthy youth development mentioned above. The study reported that Boy Scouts exhibited a variety of outcomes related to strong personal values and character, positive sense of self-worth and usefulness, caring and nurturing relationships with parents and peers, desire to learn, productive use of time, and social adeptness.
