Type of Evaluation:
Outcomes Monitoring. Summary of Available Evaluation Information: cityWILD operates three distinct programs: The Leadership Program, Case Management, and cityWILD Ventures. The Leadership Program includes the After School Program, and through consistent participation, students earn weekend adventure trips. Each student in the After School Program participates in an intake with the Case Management team, which then provides individualized services as need be. The Ventures program works with other youth services organizations in Colorado to provide youth in those programs with outdoor adventure experiences. In 2004, cityWILD designed a survey instrument for participants with various questions about the influence of the program on drug and alcohol use and achieving goals. Of the 111 students in the Leadership Program in 2003-04, 23 responded to the survey. Parents and teachers were also surveyed with similar questions about their children or students. cityWILD is currently working on a more sophisticated survey instrument and a more rigorous evaluation design. |
No fee for the after school program; other groups pay for Ventures partici-pants |
