Type of Evaluation: Experimental.

Note: The evaluation reported here does not include the Denver program.

Objective: To assess whether the curriculum changed student behaviors.

Impact/Outcome Findings: Both parents and teachers reported no significant changes in behaviors from baseline to post-intervention periods for either control or treatment group students. Immediately following the completion of the program, observers found no significant differences between the groups with regard to classroom behavior or negative verbal behavior in the cafeteria or playground. Observers did find decreased rates of negative physical behavior in the cafeteria and playground for treatment group students. At the six-month follow-up, most of the significant differences between the treatment and control groups had dissipated. The final sample of 790 students represented 66% of the eligible sample.
