Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Summary of Available Evaluation Information: Save Our Youth uses pre and post mentor/mentee surveys, effect surveys, and satisfaction surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs. In preliminary research, it has been found that in communities where graduation rates are 39%, 98% of Save Our Youth mentees are actively enrolled in school and 90% complete high school. 78% of the program's high school graduates are "first generation" (no parent or grandparent graduated from high school). 90% of the participants in the teen moms program continue their high school education. A more rigorous evaluation is planned.
