Objective: To determine whether the program is achieving goals set by the Ohio Department of Education by assessing academic and other youth development outcomes for students, family impact, and satisfaction with programming.

Impact/Outcomes: Academically, participants were at-risk and their assessment scores indicated limited ability in math and reading. A majority of students demonstrated improvements in math and reading. In reading, overall 83.8% of students showed positive changes and in math, 88.3% of students showed positive change. Parent, program staff, and student ratings of social skills indicated improvements in social skills. Additionally, a majority of students indicated that staff cared and the program made them want to try harder in school. Parents also reported that the program had positive effects on academic effort. Among 7th and 8th grade participants, 40% received school detentions and 35% received suspensions, however no comparison data were available. Overall, parents and students indicated they were satisfied with the program.
