Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

The PACT Program is an adolescent pregnancy prevention program that provides information regarding risky behaviors, contraceptive methods, pregnancy, and STD prevention. The program is held at 15 community locations, including the YWCA, middle schools, high schools and churches.

Objective:
To assess whether the PACT Program increases teen knowledge of healthy relationships, awareness of STD transmission, the consequences of unprotected sex, and the various forms of peer pressure.

 

Impact/Outcomes: Of the responding participants, 92% were more knowledgeable of sexually transmitted diseases, 77% were more knowledgeable of available birth control methods, and 98% were more knowledgeable about various ways to resist negative peer pressure.
