Summary of Available Evaluation Information:
In 2001, the Job Link program was awarded the Promising and Effective Practices Network (PEPNet) award from the National Youth Employment Coalition for demonstrating effectiveness in preparing youth for careers and independent living. The program received recognition for demonstrating effectiveness in all five categories of the PEPNet Criteria of Effective Practice which include: Purpose and activities; Organization and management; Youth development; Workforce development; and Evidence of success. PEPNet reported that during 2000, 80% of graduating students obtained employment or went into further training. In addition, 100% of the students retained their employment for 90 days, with the majority keeping their jobs for longer periods of time.
