Mission/Goals: To assist children with disabilities and their families in strengthening their abilities to participate in all aspects of society. The goal of Camp Services is to offer day and residential camping/recreational activities for children ages 5 and older with and without special needs, their families and friends. The activities include swimming, horseback riding, arts and crafts, sports, and fishing. The program promotes self-confidence, friendship, and fun.

Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Objective: To assess program implementation and program effects on participants.

Impact/Outcomes: Roughly 60% of parent respondents strongly agreed with the following statements: the staff at the Center listen and respond to my concerns, questions and ideas; I am satisfied with my child's participation and progress in the camp; the atmosphere at the camp is warm and nurturing; I would recommend the program to my friends or relatives; and my child looks forward to coming to the camp.

 

There is a fee for the camp but the program accepts children regardless of the families' ability to pay.
