Mission/Goals: To increase the number of students in low-income communities who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary educations.

Notes: GEAR UP is run in 16 K-8 buildings and 8 high schools in Cincinnati. The program in Cincinnati received a five year grant for 2002 to 2007 from the U.S. Department of Education

Note: GEAR UP in Cincinnati is in the process of conducting an evaluation which will be completed in May 2005. A national evaluation is also being conducted.

Objective: To examine how well GEAR UP program goals are being met.
