Mission/Goals: The Good News After School Reading Program provides after school remedial reading instruction through one-on-one tutoring to children who have fallen behind their peers in reading. The goal of the program is to enhance the reading skills/reading comprehension of its participants.

Notes: Good News is in its 25th year of providing after school reading tutoring for second through fourth graders at Gale Academy, a high risk Chicago public school on the north side of the city. Good News operates out of the Good News Church soup kitchen.

No: Program serves approximately 20 children for 7-month periods. Grades 2-4 Please click here for more information on this evaluation.
