Mission/Goals: YES works with urban youth between the ages of 8 and 18 to develop values, self-esteem, and leadership skills.

Notes: Operation Ski Lift takes participants to ski slopes during the winter months. YES's Outdoor Adventure Program provides outdoor activities for urban youth. The Job Training Program trains youth ages 11 to 17 in outdoor leadership, computer application and repair, ski and/or bicycle mechanics and ski and snowboard instruction. Over 90 percent of their kids come from low to moderate-income families.

Little have evaluated high school graduation rates, college attainments, employment rates, program credibility, cultural identity, and the behavioral changes of YES participants. Child Trends is waiting for program staff to provide the evaluations.
