Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring.

Objective: To determine the influence of the Southeast Youth Academy (SEYA) on school performance, social competence, and health risk behaviors.

Impact/Outcomes: Overall, there is a high degree of stability in school performance, social competence, health risk behavior, and perceptions of SEYA over time among program participants. During the evaluation period, there were some significant changes such as improvements in reported school grades, declines in reported alcohol use, declines in reported violence, and increases in perceived support from Academy staff from program participants.
