Mission/Goals: "The Baltimore Community Foundation's A-Teams Initiative began in 1999 to support the after-school goal of the Safe and Sound Campaign by increasing the availability of high-quality academic, arts, and athletic activities for middle-school age youth in inner city neighborhoods during the out-of-school hours. A-Teams are intensive, focused, skill-building activities in academics, arts, or athletics for youth ages 11-14 in targeted neighborhoods. These activities take place in Safe and Sound Youth Places, community centers, schools, places of worship, and many other organizations that serve youth."
