350 youth served in 2003 Serves children 2 1/2 and up. Youth programs serve children ages 6-18.

Type of Evaluation: Outcomes Monitoring. The Central Community House uses a measurement tool to track student and family life progress. This evaluation is currently in progress.

Objective: To track how children and families are progressing with regard to academic, development, and home outcomes.

Sample: Data are being collected from all participants in the program as well as from parents and families.

Methodology: Students and families are assessed at the beginning and end of the school year.

Outcomes Examined: Academic performance and achievement of academic related goals; developmental outcomes including respect for peers, ability to negotiate conflict with peers, resistance to peer pressure, involvement in positive and meaningful friendships, empathy, connection to caring adults. Family outcomes include family supports, economic and emotional stressors, child care, housing, food, parental education, parent-child relationships, and parental involvement.

Measurement Instruments: Measurement tool developed in partnership with Ohio State University

Impact/Outcomes: Not yet available. Results will be available by the end of 2005.

Study: Study currently in progress.

No cost during school year program. In the summer there is a sliding scale fee for summer program.
