MARTHA ZASLOW
Senior Scholar Ph.D., Developmental Psychology, Harvard University
Dr. Zaslow is a nationally renowned researcher on issues related to early childhood. She has over 30 years of experience in policy and program assessments, designing and carrying out evaluation studies, and analyzing data.
Her research focuses on:

professional development of the early childhood workforce

initiatives to improve the quality of early care and education settings

child care as a factor in parental employment and children’s development in low-income families
-
parenting behavior in the early years as a contributor to children’s later academic and behavioral adjustment
-
measuring young children’s development
Dr. Zaslow has worked closely with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children & Families Office of Planning Research & Evaluation and the U.S. Department Education on projects related to early care and education. She has also served as an expert on projects related to early childhood care, including for the design team for the National Survey of Child Care Supply & Demand 2010 and the Improving Quality in Home-Based Child Care project. Dr. Zaslow also worked with local and state governments to evaluate their early care and education settings and school readiness initiatives.
Dr. Zaslow works as a consultant in Child Trends’ Early Childhood Development research area.
