LAURA LIPPMAN

Senior Program Area Director & Senior Research Scientist

Graduate Studies in Demography, Georgetown University
B.A., Anthropology, Colorado College

Ms. Lippman is a demographer focusing on indicators of child well-being, education, and positive development.  She directs the Education program at Child Trends.  Ms. Lippman oversees research involving the development of physical, cognitive, social and psychological competencies among students and the family, school, and community supports for that development.  She conducts analyses and research involving, national, international, and state data sets, often contributing new measures and survey designs that fill gaps in current data collection activities. Her research involves the social context of child well-being, including family structure, family processes, and connectivity, including the measurement of youth and family religiosity and spirituality.  She also oversees survey and measure development which contribute to improved data collection in the areas of child care, education, and positive development.
