HEALTH

Child Trends investigates the physical health, emotional development, and social behaviors of children at all stages in their lives, from pregnancy through adolescence.

Through considering characteristics of children as well as their environments, we explore how a child’s health and well-being can by influenced their families, their peers, their schools, their communities, and social policies.

The researchers who study health collaborate closely with Child Trends' Early Childhood and Youth Development research areas.

Funding for our work in this research area comes from:

·         U.S. Department of Health and Human Services:  Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (DHHS/ASPE)

·         Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)

·         National Adolescent Health Information Center (NAHIC)

·         Public Policy Analysis & Education Center for Middle Childhood, Adolescent and Young Adult Health (Policy Center).
